After Liverpool's spectacular 4-2 win over Newcastle, manager Jürgen Klopp must be pleased to have a highly competitive team for the second half of the season, but he must also be concerned about the loss of Dominik Szoboszlai, leaving the Hungarian out for several days and a void that must somehow be filled for the FA Cup clash with Arsenal.

With Alexis Mac Allister in full soccer improvement, without Wataru Endo who leaves with the Japan national team to face official matches, and also without Szoboszlai, coach Jürgen Klopp must be worried about trying to figure out how to have that sustainability of the midfield without all those figures at his disposal, being one of the easiest options so far to put Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jonez as Ryan Gravenberch's companions for this coming Sunday.

But even though Jones and Elliott are in the minds of many fans, coach Jürgen Klopp could surprise with the implementation of one more man to these plans, being the name of Thiago Alcántara the one that attracts the most attention after having been placed as one of the possible additions for this January.

It is true that this news can be taken in a positive and negative way, and both positions are totally understandable, since it is true that Alcántara could be a great differentiator in these times in which there are many injured players, but it is also true that his current level and his lack of rhythm would not make him a man in tune with the rest of the group that is in its best physical and footballing form.

Alcántara still causes expectations and excitement at the Reds

Despite Alcántara having shown perhaps his worst version as a player in the Merseyside team, this element in his scattered games as a starter has shown that his quality of play is enough to be able to occupy a place in the institution, wishing some that at least within this last stage with the Reds, the Spanish midfielder can have a couple of good interventions that will facilitate the work of those who are injured or those who are going through a bad streak.
