Luis Diaz's 11th-minute shot in the first half gave Liverpool the lead at the break, ahead of Issa Diop's equaliser 13 minutes from time, which restored parity. However, it was Jürgen Klopp's men who booked their place at the national stadium to face Chelsea for a repeat of the 2022 final.

After coming from behind in the first leg at Anfield (2-1), Liverpool earned a final-worthy 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage. An early goal by Luis Diaz in the 11th minute set the tie up, although Issa Diop's equaliser added to the excitement in the closing stages. Fulham had threatened with Joao Pahlinha's volley from a corner that went high despite him being alone in the box, but Luis Diaz soon after grabbed a fortunate goal. The Colombian picked up a long ball when Timothy Castagne misjudged his jump and, after a cut-back, his shot bounced off a defender, then off him, Bernd Leno deflected off the post and into the net. An incredible stroke of luck.
