Liverpool will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and Andy Robertson for the game against Bournemouth this weekend but the trio are edging closer to a return from injury. They could all return to training next week. Jürgen Klopp has outlined the latest on injuries, with no fresh issues before the Premier League returns again for Liverpool after a short winter break. But no Reds players will be back and the squad will be the same as the previous match.

What would be the midfield that Klopp occupies when recovering the injured?

Mohamed Salah, who picked up an injury with Egypt during its game with Ghana yesterday at AFCON, will be assessed in the Ivory Coast but it remains to be seen how bad that setback is. Liverpool will continue to monitor it from afar. Klopp spoke about Bournemouth's good form and the excellent progression of Dominic Solanke, the former Liverpool striker who has been in red-hot form at the moment. The Reds know that the fixture on the south coast will be a challenge.

"We don't know anything," Klopp explained in his press conference when asked about Salah. "I spoke with him last night and how it is with these injuries, he needs further assessment. That's what they are doing now. Then we will know more." "Trent can walk on the catwalk!" Klopp joked, after the Liverpool number 66 was spotted in Milan during his time off. "After Fulham, we will see. Trent is close, Dom close, Robbo close. All going in the right direction but not for the weekend's game."

Liverpool will have more than enough options for this game with Conor Bradley having played very well against Fulham last time out. He will be likely to maintain his place until Alexander-Arnold comes back. Without Szoboszlai being available again, Harvey Elliott or Ryan Gravenberch will hope to play in midfield alongside Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister. Klopp also spoke about Luis Díaz being in good form and the Colombian could be a good option to offer pace on the right flank with Salah being out.

Looking to consolidate the leadership

Liverpool can increase the gap on Manchester City in the table by winning. At the moment, Klopp and Pep Guardiola's sides have played 20 games each, with the Reds having a two-point advantage.
