In the first half, Liverpool got on the scoreboard with a goal from Colombian striker Luis Diaz in the 11th minute, leaving Fulham needing two more goals to challenge for the big game at Wembley Stadium. The Cottagers came out all guns blazing late in the second half to turn the game around, and it wasn't until the 76th minute that the French centre-back scored the first goal of the game to put the home side back in the game.
However, it was not enough time for Raúl Jímenez's team, as with that score Liverpool qualified for the final of the English Cup for the second time in three years, and will play again in a final against Chelsea, who met twice in the 2022 finals in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
As reported by Mail Sport, the Metropolitan Police have instructed the EFL that the 25 February game between Liverpool and Chelsea should kick off at 3pm at the latest to avoid clashes between fans of the two teams. The game was originally scheduled to kick off at 4.30pm, but now they have announced this change which could affect Liverpool fans who already had their travel plans set and will now have to change them.
