Liverpool Already Has a Date for Their Fourth Round FA Cup Clash Against Plymouth

Liverpool, led by Arne Slot, now knows when they will face Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The match is scheduled for Sunday, February 9, at 3 p.m. (GMT) at Home Park and will be broadcast live on ITV in the UK.

A Championship Opponent in Crisis

Plymouth, currently at the bottom of the Championship standings, heads into this clash with a new manager, Miron Muslic, who took over after Wayne Rooney’s dismissal late last year. The "Pilgrims" will look to pull off an upset against a Liverpool side that secured their spot in this round with a commanding 4-0 victory over League Two’s Accrington Stanley.

The last meeting between these two teams was in 2017, when Liverpool defeated Plymouth in a replay at Home Park thanks to a rare goal from Lucas Leiva, after a 0-0 draw at Anfield. From that squad, only Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez remain part of the current first team.

A Tight Schedule for Liverpool

The match against Plymouth will mean another long journey for Liverpool fans, who have already traveled to the south coast for visits to Southampton (twice) and Brighton, with a match against Bournemouth still to come on February 1.

The "Reds" face a packed schedule. The 600-mile round trip to Plymouth will follow the second leg of the League Cup semi-final against Tottenham at Anfield (February 6) and precede the Merseyside derby against Everton (February 12).

Possible Squad Rotation

With only one free week between now and the end of February, it’s expected that Arne Slot will rotate his squad, as he did in the tie against Accrington Stanley. This approach could provide opportunities for fringe players to gain valuable minutes as Liverpool aims to advance in the FA Cup without neglecting their other commitments.

Liverpool fans eagerly anticipate this match as the team faces the challenge of a packed schedule and the chance to progress in all competitions.
