Arsenal players will wear all-white kits on Sunday in their FA Cup third-round match against Liverpool as part of their campaign against knife crime and youth violence. It will be the first time the Premier League side will wear the kit at a home game as part of the "No More Red" initiative.
"Young people face multiple challenges as they grow up in today's world, and we don't have all the answers, but we are confident that, by acting together and shining a light on the support network available in our community, we can make a meaningful contribution to the lives of our participants," said Freddie Hudson, head of the Arsenal in the Community initiative.
Arsenal's women's team will wear all white for the first time in their FA Cup clash with Watford, scheduled for this month. Although the uniforms are not for sale, a T-shirt will be offered in stores. Arsenal said 100% of the price of the garment will be donated to charity. The No More Red campaign has invested in initiatives to create safer spaces to play football and to carry out organized activities within the community.
For its part, Liverpool will also join this campaign and will wear its third kit in this match, that is, all purple so neither team will wear its traditional kit that has red tones in order to send a strong message to all the young people who will watch the match.
