Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed the return of defender Quansah and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai for Saturday's FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Slot expressed his delight at having the duo back in contention. "Both Nat and Dominik have been working hard to recover from their respective injuries, and I'm pleased to say they are now fit enough to be included in the squad," he said.
Philips, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the beginning of November, will provide a much-needed boost to Liverpool's defence. The 26-year-old has been a reliable presence at the back in recent seasons and his return will give Slot more options in the heart of defence.
Szoboszlai, who joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in the summer, has been a key player for the Merseyside club. The Hungarian international suffered a minor knee injury in training last week but has made a swift recovery. His return will be a welcome boost to Liverpool's midfield, as they look to progress in the FA Cup.
When asked about the importance of the FA Cup, Slot emphasised the club's commitment to all competitions. "The FA Cup is a fantastic competition and we want to go as far as we can," he said. "We will be fielding a strong team against Accrington Stanley and I'm confident we can get a positive result."
With the return of Phillips and Szoboszlai, Slot has a near-full squad to choose from. However, the Liverpool manager confirmed that a few players are still nursing minor injuries and will be assessed closer to kick-off.
Liverpool will be looking to build on their recent positive form, as they aim to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Reds have been in impressive form in recent weeks, and their fans will be hoping for another convincing performance against Accrington Stanley.
