With the absence of Bajcetic and Henderson, this will be the line-up against Real Madrid

The big doubt is the pivot: Camavinga or Tchouameni

The big doubt is the pivot: Camavinga or Tchouameni

The big doubt is the pivot: Camavinga or Tchouameni. A battle that has been going on for some time between two compatriots... for one position. Camavinga has been shining, and Ancelotti wanted to give him a piece of his mind at the press conference: "It's true that he makes some obvious mistakes from time to time, but in the end he plays so well that you forget about them". Despite this and despite everything, it is Tchouameni who, on a night when there is no margin for error, is aiming for the eleven. Carletto is aware that Camavinga's volatility can be counterproductive in a match that calls for chloroform. That there, his man is more Tchouameni.

The other big question was left-back, but smaller than the latter. Because although Mendy has been training several times and is part of the squad, he is not yet ready to start, especially in a match of this magnitude. Stopping Salah is a tall order, and the man who proved he knows how to do it at Anfield was Nacho, who is now in line to play in the same position, which would close the second - and last - door on Camavinga. Because the midfielders are not up for debate: Modric and Kroos will play tonight.

Up front, the captain returns: Karim Benzema. Now fully recovered from his eighth injury of the season and after missing the 14th game. It hasn't been his most consistent season, but he arrives in -apparent- condition for this game and, with that information on the table, there is no debate. He will play. His escorts will be Valverde and Vinicius. In defence there are no more dilemmas either: defending Courtois' goal will be Carvajal, Militao and Rüdiger, along with the aforementioned Nacho. A team in morning suit for a gala night. A Champions League night.

With the confirmed absences of Jordan Henderson and Stefan Bajcetic, German coach Jürgen Klopp will have to make changes in midfield: in goal will be Alisson, in defence will be TAA, Van Dijk, Konaté and Robertson, in midfield will be Fabinho James Miller and Harvey Elliot to replace Henderson and Bajcetic. In attack will be Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.
