The Reds boss is still tied in his hands and without the possibility of being able to field a good team to close the final day of the UEFA Champions League on a high note, because when the willingness to play a good game at home and try to be the one to take away Napoli's unbeaten run this season, the injury of an important man in the Reds midfield comes to complicate the situation.
A few weeks ago it was Thiago Alcántara who was missing from the squad for the Premier League and Champions League, but once he made his return in the defeat to Leeds United, his team-mate Jordan Henderson put the whole team in doubt after failing to turn up for Monday's training session, with talk of a possible injury to the British midfielder.

The bad news at Anfield continues to pile up after Henderson was absent from the training session, as team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had a full, high-intensity training session at the same venue, but unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp the midfield man is ineligible as he was not registered for the Champions League group stage after recovering from injury as the European showpiece was about to begin.
The only peace of mind the Reds fans at Anfield can have is the knowledge that their veteran midfield man will not cause an apparent major casualty, as the fact he did not turn up for training does not mean he was not present for an individual session, with discomfort or fatigue being the two minor ailments accompanying the Briton today.
The Liverpool boss had already found that balance in midfield that will allow both Henderson and Alcantara to play simultaneously in midfield, with his absence perhaps scuppering the plan to see him tomorrow night in stopping the Gli Azzurri, with Jurgen Klopp having to resort to the bench and most likely bring on Fabinho from the start to continue with the firm objective of beating the Italians and finishing the group stage.
