Sadio Mané is the latest high-profile player to join the Saudi Pro League

Former Liverpool star and player Sadio Mané has officially completed his transfer to Al-Nassr, having spent just one season at FC Bayern after leaving Anfield last year. Undoubtedly, Mané's arrival in Saudi Arabian football comes as a surprise to many, as just a year ago he was considered one of the best players in the world and everything seems to indicate that his intention was to remain in Europe.

However, Sadio Mané's career did not go in the direction he had hoped for after leaving Liverpool, as Mané was expected to become an important figure for FC Bayern, but he was never able to adapt to Bundesliga football and was one of the most targeted players by the Bavarian club's fans after a disappointing season for them.

Now, with a new coach, Mané was left out of Bayern's starting lineup and even in the last few games he was no longer active. It was reported that the 31-year-old Senegalese attacker had tried to convince Thomas Tuchel to let him stay at the club, but the German tactician decided to sell him and so Mané will now be Cristiano Ronaldo's new teammate in the exotic and emerging Saudi Pro League.

What many do not know is that Sadio Mané's surprise departure from FC Bayern will cost Liverpool dearly, as we will not be able to pocket the maximum fee of £35 million that was agreed a year ago with Bayern because Mané did not meet the performance requirements necessary for the Reds to receive that money.

How much will Mané's arrival at Al-Nassr cost Liverpool?

When Sadio Mané was sold to FC Bayern, the German club paid £27.5 million upfront, which will end up being the price for which Mané left the club. Because he only spent one season in the Bundesliga, Liverpool will not receive £5M for number of appearances and another £2.5M for individual and collective achievements.
