Liverpool and Chelsea reportedly entering a battle to poach each other's targets

Our Liverpool's first Premier League game is getting closer and closer. Jürgen Klopp and the Reds players are already preparing to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Sunday, however this will not be the only battle between Reds and Blues, as according to several reports and various journalists, both clubs are about to engage in a battle to sign players that both have on their respective target lists.

For several weeks now it has been established that Liverpool's priority is to sign young midfielders who can form an important part of the club's future project and everything seems to indicate that the top priority is to secure the arrival of Romeo Lavia, although they have also had their eye on Moises Caicedo, the Ecuadorian defensive midfielder for whom they supposedly opted some time ago not to try to sign him due to his high cost.

However, now it seems that things have taken an unexpected turn as in recent weeks it was reported that Chelsea were very close to finalizing the arrival of Caicedo, although all the offers they have made for the Ecuadorian have been rejected by Brighton, who stand by their £100 million price tag. In view of this, it has been reported that our Liverpool will try to steal the signing of Caicedo and according to journalist Matt Law, the Anfield board would have made a higher offer than Chelsea to try to sign the young promise of South American football.

Fabrizio Romano himself has confirmed that Liverpool are indeed trying to enter the race for Moises Caicedo. Likewise, Chelsea would be trying to sign the player who until a few days ago was reported as Liverpool's main target, Romeo Lavia, due to Brighton's refusal to lower Caicedo's price.

How much is Chelsea offering to sign Lavia?

It has been well known for several weeks that Southampton are seeking £50 million for the signing of Romeo Lavia and have rejected three bids from Liverpool because they have not reached that figure. Now, with the whole Moises Caicedo situation, Chelsea have decided to pursue the signing of the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder and according to journalist Dave Ockop, they would have offered £48 million to sign him but the Saints have already rejected that proposal.
