The world champion who was surprised by the level of Luis Diaz

Carles Puyol, Spain's World Cup winner and long-serving Barcelona defender, was surprised by the level of Liverpool's Colombian Luis Diaz, who scored a stunning goal from outside the box in Monday's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Anfield after taking several players off his line.

On social media, Puyol wrote: "Amazing Luis Diaz", accompanied by an emoji with his hands raised, a post that received several comments, some agreeing with the former World Cup winner's stance, as well as others criticising Liverpool's play despite Diaz's sublime goal.
