Liverpool already had their second game in Singapore in what marked the end of the short pre-season tour in Asia, where our team lost 4-3 to FC Bayern. Although the game was lost, Jürgen Klopp has taken interesting notes from this game and could have seen one of the team's next stars.
It is well known that the preseason serves to build the team for the start of the season and this year in particular, Jürgen Klopp has the task of finding young talent that can be part of the club's future project, as it seems that Liverpool's last golden era is behind them after winning every possible title in recent years. Although there are still some players who were part of that success, the truth is that our club needs to renew itself if it intends to continue competing at the top of European football.
Last season was a wake-up call for the Reds, as in addition to winning no titles, we were left out of the next edition of the Champions League, so in the 2023-2024 season there will be no Champions League matches at Anfield, however there is the opportunity to participate in the Europa League, a tournament of international relevance that can serve for the club's young players to gain experience in European competitions for the 2024-2025 season in which it is expected that we will be back in the Champions League.
That is why the young players must strive to impress Jürgen Klopp during this preseason that is about to conclude and also during the season that is about to begin, and in that sense there is a player who has undoubtedly stood out above the rest in the search for a place in the first team.
The 17-year-old Ben Doak has been the young player who has surprised Jürgen Klopp and some first-team players the most according to various reports. Doak has shown that he is not out of place alongside Liverpool's best players and in the match against FC Bayern, he equaled Luis Diaz as the player with the most completed dribbles (6) so far in the preseason. In addition, in just 15 minutes against Bayern, he created two scoring opportunities.
