Luis Diaz set up Carvalho for Liverpool's second goal to win the FA Community Shield.

A hat-trick from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Trent Alexander Arnold saw Liverpool claim the Community Shield against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, giving German manager Jurgen Klopp the win after several defeats last season.

The club gave a complete game, with most players adapting to Klopp's game, but one player who proved, since arriving last season, to be the character Liverpool needed for this new season.

Despite the departure of Sadio Mane and doubts about Darwin Nunez, Jurgen Klopp managed to come out on top and win the Community Shield at the King Power Stadium, which belongs to Leicester, rather than at Wembley Stadium, as is always the case.

Liverpool were coming off the back of three straight wins against Manchester City. Although the club lost the last FA Community Shield against Pep's team and Arsenal, this time goals from star players won the cup, without a goal from Luis Diaz, who became the key player that was expected.
