The Reds have a lot of power in attack

Liverpool's desire to please their fans caused a whirlwind of a game against Darmstadt from the off, and within just two minutes they had taken the lead through Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota. The former was on target with a rebound under the goal from a corner, while the latter made good on stifling pressure from the Egyptian, who stole the ball and set up his team-mate to add to the lead.

Darmstadt responded with their first and only goal early on, ten minutes in, Mathias Honsak making the most of one of the German side's few chances. With 80 minutes of the game still to go, Luis Diaz was ready with the final flourish to end Liverpool's party.

From Dominik Szoboszlai's corner, the Colombian striker back-heeled home a volley to make it 3-1 and cap a fine pre-season for Liverpool, who have lost just one of their five games - to Bayern Munich - and are now ready for their Premier League debut.

The prediction

While Liverpool have shown significant attacking prowess, journalist Charlotte Coates asked a question on her Twitter account in which she questioned whether it was crazy to think that Portugal's Diogo Jota could score at least 20 goals next season as the team's top scorer. Fans are confident he can reach that figure.
