Liverpool's summer transfer window has not turned out to be what many of us expected, as the Reds were initially tipped to be one of the most active teams in terms of signing new players, but so far this has not been the case as we have only been able to finalize two arrivals, that of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
It is now well known that Jürgen Klopp's top priority is to sign at least one midfielder and everything seems to indicate that the number one objective of the German tactician would be to finalize the arrival of Romeo Lavia, the Southampton defensive midfielder for whom the Anfield board would have offered £40 million to sign him.
However, the Saints could take the negotiations to the final stages of the transfer market, since in the two previous offers made by our Liverpool they were reluctant to lower their £50 million price tag. That is why it has been reported that Jürgen Klopp has now set his sights on an alternative in case Romeo Lavia does not make it to the team this summer and it is Fluminense's Brazilian midfielder, André Trindade, who is currently one of the most promising players in his country and for whom Liverpool could pay up to £30 million according to various reports.
But it seems that Klopp also has another big priority and not only to strengthen the midfield, which has been a very complicated task for the board. In that sense, Klopp would have also asked for the arrival of at least one central defender who can play on the left side and it seems that he already has his ideal candidate for whom he would only have to pay around 25 million euros.
We are talking about Perr Schuurs, the 23-year-old Dutch defender who currently belongs to Serie A side Torino. According to various reports, Klopp has had his eye on Schuurs for several weeks and could try to make an offer to sign him before the transfer window closes.
