Liverpool to pay €120m for Borussia Dortmund player

Liverpool are reportedly among the frontrunners and are 'confident' of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham The Reds are 'confident of signing Jude Bellingham' with reports suggesting an agreement could be struck within weeks.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has established himself as one of the top prospects in European football after enjoying a breakout in the Bundesliga with Jurgen Klopp's former side. Although their fortunes on the pitch haven't quite matched expectations, albeit winning the DFB Pokal in 2020, the 19-year-old Englishman remains the name on everybody's lips.

Bellingham has already expressed his intention to remain with the Black Yellows for the upcoming campaign. But it has not stopped with links with Liverpool, with suggestions they could add to their list of incomings this summer, following the arrivals of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have belief that they will win the pursuit to sign the former Birmingham City youngster. Also in the report, they claim that representatives could have an agreement in place.

The Liverpool Echo understands that the Reds are strong admirers of Bellingham, who has plenty of suitors lining up. The German boss has already addressed links with a midfield addition this summer, quashing any avenues available. He said: “I don’t understand. I do not understand.”

"People told me about this discussion, but the last thing that would have crossed my mind is that we have to [sign a midfielder]. I know all these things, that we don’t score enough goals from midfield, this and that, but what do we want? This ‘Golden Cow’ that is producing absolutely everything, milk as well!

“We can go through it. Where do you want to start? So, Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Milner, Keita, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho, Oxlade-Chamberlain. Now you tell me what kind of player are we missing? One who is offensive, 1.95m and arrives into the box to head balls in? OK, apart from that!”

The German side have set a market value of up to €120m for their midfielder. The Germans are demanding a hefty price tag for their diamond in the rough, Bellingham, who is also a priority for Liverpool.

Chelsea have recently joined the bidding for the former Birmingham City man. As if that wasn't enough, the BVB gem is also on the radar of two other Premier League clubs, Manchester City and Manchester United, and one more in Spain: Real Madrid.
