Jürgen Klopp wants to sign a defender to partner Virgil van Dijk

The Anfield board and Jürgen Klopp are planning to sign a new defender this transfer window, for whom they could pay up to €40 million, taking advantage of the revenue they will generate from the sale of Fabinho, who is about to complete his move to Al-Ittihad, and from the sale of Jordan Henderson who left €14 million after completing his move to Al-Ettifaq.

Last season was a disaster in defensive matters for our Liverpool, and that was one of the main reasons why the team could not achieve its main objectives as we not only failed to win a single title last season but we were also out of the top four of the Premier League and with that out of the next edition of the Champions League.

However, it seems that now Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board are looking for a new defender who can help Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté, who as of today would be the starters, to keep Alisson's clean sheet in as many games as possible.

Who is the defender Klopp wants?

According to Liverpool journalist Dave Ockop, Klopp has his eye on Perr Schurrs, the 23-year-old Dutch defender who plays for Serie A side Torino and who is reportedly valued by his current club at 40 million euros, almost double his current market value according to Transfermarkt.
