In a duel of Liverpool players with Virgil Van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Tsimikas, the Netherlands did not disappoint as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Greece to keep their chances alive in Group B of the Euro 2024 qualifiers with two games in hand. Denzel Dumfries was the hero as he laid on three assists to catapult the Dutch to a comfortable win in Eindhoven.

The Inter Milan right-back first latched on to a corner for Marten de Roon to finish low and put his side ahead after just 17 minutes.  Moments later, Dumfries provided the final pass after two fine team moves. His cross from the right was met by Cody Gakpo. The Liverpool striker chested the ball down and volleyed home in the 31st minute to make it 2-0.

To complete the Dutch heroics in the first half, Dumfries chipped the ball to centre-forward Wout Weghorst, who headed home in the 39th minute. It was his first goal since March in all competitions and sealed the 3-0 final score.

<strong>Renewal</strong>

After this match, it has been announced that Konstantinos Tisimikas has been renewed by Liverpool which will tie him to the team until 2027. The Greek left-back arrived in 2020 from AEK Athens for 13 million from Liverpool, and while he has not established himself as a starter, he has been a good replacement. His salary before the renewal was 3.9 million, but now with the new deal he is expected to have risen to 5 million, putting him on par with players like Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz.
