Southampton have once again left Romeo Lavia out of the squad, adding to rumors of a move to Liverpool.

Excellent news for Liverpool and for Jürgen Klopp, as once again Romeo Lavia will not play for Southampton in the upcoming EFL Cup match, increasing rumors about his imminent departure from the team to join the Reds, who have already made four offers for him according to various journalists, as the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder is Klopp's top priority to reinforce the team's midfield after the unexpected departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Since the summer transfer window began our Liverpool have been linked with multiple players, especially midfielders, as Jürgen Klopp has reportedly told the Anfield board that this would be the priority to sign this summer. However, at this point it is impossible to deny that the transfer window has not been what was expected, as we have only been able to finalize two arrivals: Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Reds' board is working on closing the transfer of Lavia to Liverpool, as both Jürgen Klopp and the Southampton player himself are anxious for the transaction to finally take place. Several media already assume that Lavia will be a new Liverpool player, as it is no coincidence that he did not play in the first Championship match with the team and is now ruled out for Southampton's debut in the EFL Cup.

The latest information on the signing of Lavia has been that the third offer made by Liverpool, which was £46 million, was immediately rejected by Southampton, and Liverpool would have no choice but to offer the £50 million that the Saints initially asked for, so there is already a tentative date on which Lavia could be Liverpool's new player.

When will Lavia join Liverpool?

At this stage and with only a few days to go before the Premier League kicks off, it looks virtually impossible that Romeo Lavia will be able to play in Liverpool's first game against Chelsea. However, several reports claim that the signing could be finalized in the next few hours and that it won't take more than this week for Romeo Lavia's signing with Liverpool to be made official.
