Klopp's other priority is to sign a defender before the end of the transfer window

The Premier League is about to start and our Liverpool still has a lot of doubts to solve, as Jürgen Klopp is desperate to get a couple more reinforcements that can help the team to compete again for the Premier League title, however the signings are taking longer than expected and there are positions on the pitch that urgently need to be reinforced and one of them is the defense.

While it is true that we have in Virgil van Dijk one of the best defenders in the Premier League and in Ibrahima Konaté a very reliable defender, something does not seem to be right in that area of the field, as only during the preseason our Liverpool conceded 11 goals in 5 games, which has increased the need that Jürgen Klopp already had to sign a central defender. For several weeks the name of Levi Colwill was mentioned as the main target of the German tactician in that position, but finally the young Englishman decided to stay at Chelsea.

Currently it seems that the top priority and all the efforts of the board are on signing Romeo Lavia, the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder who belongs to Southampton and for whom our Liverpool is about to pay £50 million after several failed attempts to convince the Saints to lower the price of the player.

Such is Liverpool's insistence on signing Lavia that there have not been so many rumors about who could arrive at Anfield to strengthen the team's defense and everything seems to indicate that Klopp would go for a player of little renown.

The unknown player Klopp wants

We are talking about Perr Schurrs, the 23-year-old Dutch defender who belongs to Serie A side Torino. Schurrs is currently valued at 25 million euros, so the Liverpool board should have no problem in signing him if they really want him to be the team's new defender. However, according to journalist François Plateau, Liverpool is not the only team interested, as Tottenham would also have Schuurs in their sights.
