There are still several weeks left in the summer transfer window

All is not lost for our Liverpool in terms of signings this summer, as while it is true that the board have fallen short in trying to bring in new signings, there are still a few weeks left to be able to sign players and the Reds plan to make the most of it.

According to information from journalist François Plateau, Liverpool has the firm intention to remain very active in the remainder of the summer transfer window, as it is no secret that the perception of Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board is that the squad is not yet complete and needs reinforcements to face the 2023-2023 season, which will be full of challenges for our team, as Klopp and the players aim to reverse the failure of last season.

In that sense, it is clear the priority that the German tactician has set, since the beginning of the summer transfer market he has focused on midfielders and with the unexpected departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, the need became urgent. That is why for several weeks, Liverpool has been linked with several players who could come to Anfield and reinforce the team, however everything has remained in rumors as, for now, only Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have been signed by the Reds this summer.

However, as mentioned before, all is not lost as journalist François Plateau has revealed that Jürgen Klopp could spend up to £100 million between now and the close of the transfer window, and claimed that, in addition to a midfielder, Klopp's intention is to sign a defender as well.

Who could Klopp sign with £100M?

It is well known by Liverpool and Anfield fans that Jürgen Klopp's priority is to sign Romeo Lavia, for whom Southampton want £50 million, and it seems that Liverpool will have to give in and get much closer to the Saints' demands. Another target is Fluminense's André, whose move to Liverpool would not be so much a financial one as it would cost less than £30M but the key would be for the Brazilian club to be eliminated from the Copa Libertadores. As for defenders, few names have been heard recently, but one of the options would be Perr Schuurs, from Torino, for whom they could ask up to £40 or 45 million.
