Khéphren Thuram has been on Klopp's list of targets for several weeks now

It seems that after weeks of rumors and apparent negotiations to finalize his departure, 22-year-old French midfielder Khéphren Thuram already knows where he will play next season after having aroused the interest of big teams in Europe, particularly Liverpool, the team with which he has been mostly linked.

Since the end of the 2022-2023 season, Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board have reportedly decided to reinforce Liverpool, especially in midfield. It was thus that the name of Khéphren Thuram began to be heard more and more often in transfer rumors involving our club, and it was even said that the son of the French legend, Lilian Thuram, was Klopp's top priority.

However, FC Bayern also showed interest in signing Thuram this summer, complicating negotiations between the Reds and the Nice board, with whom Khéphren has a contract until 2025.

Several media confirmed Liverpool's interest in signing Khéphren this summer, and there were even reports that the Anfield board and the player's entourage had already reached an agreement, and that they only needed to agree on the amount of the transfer with Nice, but that is where everything got complicated, as the French club had asked for 45 million euros, a figure too high for Liverpool's expectations, which gradually lost interest in the player.

Where will Khéphren Thuram play next season?

According to information from L'Equipe, given Liverpool's lack of interest and FC Bayern's low offer, Khéphren will stay at Nice for at least one more year, hoping that next year he can finally make the leap to a much more important team.
