The Uruguayan was not in the starting line-up for Thursday's Europa League clash

Liverpool were far superior to Austrian side LASK Linz on Thursday at Anfield in the Europa League group stage matchday 5. In the first 50 minutes of the game they were three-nil up with goals from Luis Diaz, Dutchman Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, who converted a Gakpo penalty into a goal.

In this match there were several players who stood out although the one who shone the most was the Dutchman Cody Gakpo who has lost prominence in the team in the Premier League due to injuries and also the good performance in this first half of the season by the Uruguayan Darwin Nunez who was not a starter in this match but came on as a substitute to replace Luis Díaz.
However in the middle of the game the Uruguayan received very bad news and this came from the Dutchman Cody Gakpo himself due to his great performance which could generate doubts in the German coach Jurgen Klopp for his line-up next Sunday when Liverpool play Fulham at Anfield as part of the 16th round of the Premier League.

In addition to the goal scored and the penalty taken by Gakpo, Darwin Núñez also had a great chance to score in the 58th minute but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Tobias Lawal who stopped the ball with his hands which also provoked some criticism against the Uruguayan because for some this play should have ended in Liverpool's fourth goal.
