Liverpool needs to sell players in order to make new signings

After a really disappointing 2022-2023 season in which our Liverpool not only failed to lift a single trophy, but also failed to qualify for the next Champions League, Jürgen Klopp has decided that the squad needs an urgent renewal and that is why several players could leave the team this summer.

Just finished the season, the Reds board made official the departure of several players who in recent years were important pieces in Klopp's scheme, this with the intention that the team could hire new young players who could help the team to return to the Champions League as soon as possible. Among those players who left are great figures of recent years such as Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, however, they will most likely not be the only casualties of the team.

Liverpool already managed to secure their first signing of the season, as a few weeks ago they made official the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister, an Argentine midfielder who won the World Cup in Qatar 2022. However, everything seems to indicate that Mac Allister will be only the first of several reinforcements that will arrive at Anfield this summer, but for that to happen Liverpool must bring in money from the sale of players, since so far the team's departures have been due to contract expirations and not sales.

In that sense, Jürgen Klopp is already preparing what could be the first sale of the team and it is Caoimhin Kelleher, 24-year-old Irish goalkeeper who has had little participation with Liverpool due to the presence of Alisson Becker, but when he has had the opportunity to play he has performed well and now the board could take advantage to try to sell him.

How much is Caoimhin Kelleher worth?

Currently Caoimhin Kelleher has the highest value of his career, as he went from being worth 8 to 12 million euros, according to the Transfermarkt portal. Liverpool could well try to sell him, as there will surely be teams interested in him and his sale could leave a good amount of money to spend on other signings. In fact, Nottingham Forest have already shown interest in him.
