As the biggest and most important team in the Premier League, which many consider to be the best and most competitive league in the world, our Liverpool is used to being one of the clubs that many players have the desire to reach, as it is a team with a great winning history and also has the best fans in the world. However, not everyone is worthy of playing at Anfield.
In recent years, Liverpool has focused on carrying out a generational change to maintain the success of recent years, but with younger players. That is why during the last two seasons we have witnessed the departures of great players who marked an era with the Reds. Such is the case of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The departure of these great players will allow new and younger players to arrive at our club, as Jürgen Klopp's long-term project needs players who can stay with the team for several years. In that sense, Liverpool was about to bring a player who is not only the great star of his country, but also already knows what it is to shine on the big stages of world football.
We are talking about Hirving Lozano, the Mexican striker who currently plays for Napoli, the team with which he won the Serie A last season. Lozano shone at the Russia 2018 World Cup, when he brought tears to the eyes of German fans with the winning goal for Mexico in the group stage. Now, his agent has dropped hints about the Mexican attacker's possible future, as he assured that Lozano "has always dreamed of playing for clubs like Liverpool."
Hirving Lozano arrived at Napoli in 2019 and became the most expensive signing in the history of the Italian club, as they paid 45 million euros for him. In total he has played 155 games for Napoli and scored 30 goals. In fact, in December last year, Lozano was very close to arriving at Anfield, as Liverpool had a strong interest in signing him.
