There is no doubt that a World Cup is an ideal event for footballers who are perhaps not so well known to the general public to make a name for themselves and gain notoriety, not only in the media but also in sporting terms. In fact, the vast majority of the big clubs in Europe use the World Cup events to target the names of players as possible futures for their teams and, in this context, the Qatar 2022 World Cup has been no exception.
And if there is one name that has stood out, it has been that of Enzo Fernández, a player who has already been linked with several of Europe's biggest clubs, including Florentino Pérez's Real Madrid and Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool.

However, on the other side of the coin, the teams that own these players, in this case Benfica, see the World Cup as a great opportunity to increase the value of their players and, evidently, the Lisbon side, faced with the interest of Liverpool and Real Madrid, wanted to send a clear message:
Enzo Fernandez will not leave for less than 120 million euros, the price stipulated in his termination clause. In fact, such is the determination of the Portuguese that, according to Portuguese newspaper Record, Benfica have already rejected an offer of 100 million euros for the Argentine.
Although it is not known which club would have made the offer, the aforementioned media outlet goes further and claims that Enzo Fernandez will only leave Lisbon because of his clause. In this scenario, it seems unlikely that Real Madrid or Liverpool would decide to spend such a huge amount of money for the Argentine, especially considering that, for both Spanish and English clubs, the absolute priority in the next summer transfer window is still Jude Bellingham.
