The summer transfer market always tends to bring a surprise or two, but this year in particular the biggest surprises have come from the Middle East, as the growing and financially powerful Saudi Pro League has stormed the European market and snapped up big stars from a number of top clubs, including our Liverpool, who could be about to see one of the world's most dangerous strikers who was linked with the team join the long list of players lured by Saudi Arabian money.
During this transfer market our Liverpool has been one of the teams that has generated more rumors about him, because since the end of last season there was speculation that we would be one of the most active clubs in terms of signing new players, however so far we have only managed to finalize two signings: Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
One of the rumors that most excited Liverpool fans was the alleged interest of the Anfield board in Napoli's Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who ended up being the top scorer in Serie A last season when he won the Italian league title with Napoli. In that sense, it was said that some of the club's top officials had met with Osimhen's entourage to discuss a possible arrival at Anfield, but in the end it seems that the initial price asked by the Napolitan club would be too high for Liverpool's possibilities, who would now have to see one of the best strikers in the world leave for an unexpected destination.
According to Sky Sports News, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have launched a €140 million bid to Napoli to sign Victor Osimhen. Already in the past, the Italian club's president assured that he has no intention of selling his great striker unless an offer comes in that is hard to refuse, and this could be the case. We will see what Napoli's response will be and whether Victor Osimhen is keen to play in the exotic Saudi league.
