Carragher reveals why it was a mistake to sell Fabinho to Arabia

The truth behind the sale of the Brazilian midfielder

The truth behind the sale of the Brazilian midfielder

It seems that behind Liverpool's successful sale of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho Tavares to Al-Ittihad there is an undercurrent that does not look good, with former Reds player Jamie Carragher claiming that Jurgen Klopp is to blame for the club's current situation and that his decisions have not been the best, generally speaking in terms of the reinforcements he has made over the last few years.

The former Reds striker on his Twitter account has entered into a debate between comments, making points that while Klopp may have worked miracles with what he had when he arrived, it was the German manager himself who took it upon himself to kill off the transfer department by having an ineffective way of dealing with things year after year. The owners have a self-sufficient model that Klopp bought and produced miracles! Part of that was a transfer department that was the envy of Europe. That has now gone with Klopp running the club from top to bottom."

With Carragher implying that Klopp is the man responsible for what happens with the club's sales and transfers, then it is the German coach who can be criticised for the costly arrival of a Darwin Nunez who is looking to be at his best in his second year with the club, so there would also be some question as to why he decided to dispense with the transfer of a player who has been at the top of his game for the past two years.

The Reds could have made bad negotiations in the summer

What is undeniable is that this summer the Reds could have had in Mac Alister and Szoboszlai a couple of good additions in midfield, but this large investment could have been reduced if Fabinho had stayed on for at least another year, with Klopp using that resource more to find an element for his defence and stop the obsession with eradicating the problems that hurt them so much last season.
