Can Nunez and Salah be a better strike partnership than Salah and Mane?

Darwin Nunez missed two unmatched chances. Despite that, he was active in the Reds' attack and registered an assist. An unlucky game for the South Americans in the Premier League. Liverpool beat Aston Villa 3-0 and neither Darwin Núñez nor Luis Díaz managed to score for the Anfield outfit. Of course, getting on the scoresheet is not a footballer's only mission. Both the Uruguayan and the Colombian played an important part in the game.

In fact, Nunez was involved in two of Liverpool's goals, becoming one of the standout names in Jürgen Klopp's side. The scoring opened thanks to a corner from the right by Alexander Arnold that could not be capitalised on in the box. The ball drifted wide and was met by Hungary's Dominik Szoboszlai, who struck an accurate finish to open the scoring early on (3′).

It was Darwin Núñez's play that made it 2-0 to Liverpool. The striker, with his powder wet in Sunday's game, hit the post and was fortunate that the rebound ended up hitting Villa defender Matty Cash, who put it into his own net (22′). Mohamed Salah was on hand to poke in a deflection off Darwin Núñez's cross to make it 3-0 to the home side (55′). With this goal, the Pharaoh continued to add to his tally in Liverpool's all-time scoring charts, where he is now in fifth place.

<strong>The new duo</strong>

The journalist Sam McGuire wrote an analysis of the duo that Salah and Nunez are forming that has Liverpool fans excited, because despite not being able to have the best communication because the Uruguayan does not speak English, on the pitch they understand each other better and better and are beginning to emulate what Salah and Sadio Mane have done at some point.
