Leroy Sané is Liverpool's main target if Mohamed Salah leaves

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané as they look to bolster their attacking options amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian superstar has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the French giants willing to offer a lucrative contract. While Liverpool manager Arne Slot is keen to retain Salah, he has acknowledged the need to plan for all eventualities and has given the green light for a move for Sané.

The German international has been a key player for Bayern since joining from Manchester City in 2020. His pace, skill, and ability to play on either wing make him an attractive target for Liverpool. However, Sané is currently on a lucrative €20 million-a-year deal with the Bavarian giants, which could prove to be a stumbling block in any negotiations.

Liverpool have a strong track record of signing German players in recent years, with the likes of Jürgen Klopp, Virgil van Dijk, and Joel Matip all having made successful moves to Anfield. Sané would fit seamlessly into the club’s philosophy and could form a formidable attacking partnership with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo.

While Salah’s departure would be a significant blow to Liverpool, the signing of Sané would go a long way towards softening the blow. The German winger would bring a different dimension to the Reds’ attack and would be a popular signing among the Anfield faithful.
