Trent Alexander-Arnold's future at Liverpool remains a mystery. With his contract expiring next summer, the English right-back has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid. Given this situation, Michael Owen, who lived a similar experience when swapping Anfield for the Santiago Bernabéu, wanted to share his opinion with the young player.

Owen has highlighted the pros and cons of staying at Liverpool or accepting an offer from Real Madrid. On the one hand, the former striker has highlighted the importance of being a one-club player and being part of the history of an institution as great as Liverpool.

"He has done everything at Liverpool. He can continue in that vein and have the most wonderful career at one club and be loved forever by that club and everything that comes with it," Owen said.

However, the former player has also acknowledged the attractions of playing for a club like Real Madrid. “I had the opportunity to do what Trent is possibly considering. I chose that because I thought, ‘It would be an amazing experience, I should try it. ’ You lose a bit of control after that, you’re almost in a commercial commodity,” he explained.

Owen has compared his own experience to that of Jamie Carragher, who became a Liverpool legend by spending his entire career at the club. “Carragher is probably more loved than me at Liverpool because of his loyalty than the others, but I probably had experiences and met more people and had more life experience and everything else that he didn’t have,” he noted.

Ultimately, Owen has left the decision in the hands of Alexander-Arnold. “It just depends on what floats your boat,” he concluded.

Owen’s advice comes at a crucial time for Alexander-Arnold. The right-back is faced with a decision that will shape the rest of his career. Staying at Liverpool would allow him to become a club legend, but signing for Real Madrid would open the doors to a new experience and allow him to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

What do you think Alexander-Arnold should do? Should he stay at Liverpool or accept an offer from Real Madrid?

Some points to consider:

The importance of being a one-club player: Is it more important for Alexander-Arnold to be a Liverpool legend or to play for Real Madrid?

Sporting ambitions: What sporting goals does Alexander-Arnold want to achieve?

The sporting project of each club: Which of the two clubs offers him a more attractive sporting project?

The economic factor: Will the economic aspect influence Alexander-Arnold's decision?

This news opens an interesting debate about the future of one of the best right-backs in the world.
