The Saudi Arabian League has been the destination of choice for some of Europe's top players. Since Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave the old continent and come to the Arab competition, several players have decided to try their luck. Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Neymar Jr, Karim Benzema, have been some of those who have decided to take that step and look for new goals. However, it is beginning to be the case of players who decide to take a step back and look to return to Europe, as is the case of Jordan Henderson.
The English midfielder left the Premier League and Liverpool in tears last season to try his luck at Al-Ettifaq on a three-year contract. However, six months on, he is the first "regret" of the move and, according to David Ornstein in The Athletic, the player has reportedly reached an agreement with the Saudi Pro League club to leave.
A few days ago, the player admitted to the Daily Mail that he was "desperate" to leave the Middle East. The reasons were clear: "As well as adapting to a different lifestyle, struggling with the heat and low attendances this season" he found it uninspiring.

The Reds player who wants to show Henderson how to succeed at Al-Ettifaq
All indications are that he will not return to his home league but to the Eredivisie, and more precisely to Ajax Amsterdam, as Fabrizio Romano acknowledges. This would be the player's fourth team in professional football after his time at Sunderland, the Reds and Al-Ettifaq. Henderson spent six months at Al Ettifaq and in that time was able to pocket $8 million considering he signed a contract worth $375,000 a week. For the remainder of his contract he could collect only 25 per cent of the other 8 million he signed for.
