Jordan Henderson is reportedly all set to join Juventus as he looks to become more competitive ahead of Euro 2024. After the exodus to the Saudi Arabian league of several European football stars in the transfer window at the beginning of last season, some of them have not yet adapted to the various customs of the country, as is the case of Jordan Henderson. The former Liverpool captain, currently at Al Ettifaq, is reportedly desperate to return to the Premier League but is a step away from a move to Serie A with Juventus.

Despite arriving for £12m and earning around £350,000 a week, Henderson would not honour his three-season contract. The 33-year-old midfielder, who was lured to the Saudi club by his former Reds team-mate Steven Gerrard, is reportedly going through a critical time with several reasons for his dissatisfaction. "The difficulty in adapting to a different lifestyle", as reported by the Daily Mail, added to the fact that Gerrard, a vital architect in his recruitment, is at risk in his position as coach, and the loss of competitiveness with respect to the compatriots who are fighting for a place in Gareth Southgate's squad for the next European Championship.
For these reasons, he would have everything in place to rejoin Allegri's Juve to return to competing at a high level and inject a dose of experience into a team that is already without Paul Pogba, who is facing a four-year ban for testing positive for testosterone in a doping test, and Nicolo Fagioli, who was given a seven-month ban by the Turin prosecutor's office after being found guilty of illegal betting.

However, in the last few hours a team has emerged that could interrupt the negotiations between Juventus and Henderson, as according to different media, Chelsea would be interested in signing him this winter. In the event of a swift deal, even Henderson's return could happen this month as Chelsea visit Liverpool at Anfield on 31 January.
