Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé said he has not decided where he will play next season

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé said he has not decided where he will play next season as his contract enters its final six months. Mbappé said last year that he would not renew his contract with PSG, which expires at the end of the 2023-24 season, when he could leave the Paris side without payment of a clause. The France captain, who has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, is now free to sign a pre-contract with a new club.

"First of all, I am very, very, very, very motivated for this year. It's very important," Mbappé told reporters after PSG's 2-0 win over Toulouse in the French Super Cup final on Wednesday. "As I said, we have titles to chase and we've already won one, so that's done. Not after that, I haven't decided yet. But in any case, with the agreement I made with the president (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) this summer, it doesn't matter what I decide," he said.

"We managed to protect all parties and preserve the serenity of the club for the challenges ahead, which is still the most important thing. So we will say it is secondary," he said. Media reports in September said Mbappe agreed to forgo loyalty bonuses worth up to 100 million euros (US$109.45 million) if he left PSG in a free transfer.

The defined date

Le Equipe reports that Kylian Mbappé's future could be decided quickly. The French striker's idea could be to decide his future before the Champions League round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad and to face the European Championship and the Games in a much calmer frame of mind. That is, the date when Mbappe could be announced as Liverpool's reinforcement in February.
