The international break is over and that, for the world's most powerful clubs, is quite a setback: do their stars return as they were sent out? Therein lies the rub. And Liverpool are no strangers to worrying, although it seems they have no news on their star players, including, of course, Luis Diaz.

The Colombian arrived in the city early on Thursday morning after a tour of the United States with the Colombian national team, in which he started the matches against Guatemala (4-1) and Mexico (3-2) but failed to score. There were doubts after it was confirmed that Matheus Uribe and James Rodriguez returned with fitness issues to Porto and Olympiacos respectively, but so far there is no news in England.

This Liverpool legend warns the board: he doesn't want these players to sign for Liverpool

And Liverpool are no strangers to concern, although it seems they have no news on their star players, including, of course, Luis Diaz. The Colombian arrived in the city early on Thursday morning after a tour of the United States with the Colombia national team, in which he started the matches against Guatemala (4-1) and Mexico (3-2) but failed to score. There were doubts after it was confirmed that Matheus Uribe and James Rodriguez returned with fitness issues to Porto and Olympiacos respectively, but so far there is no news in England.

In the run-up to Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton, Jürgen Klopp was asked directly about him: "I hadn't seen him yet. I heard he's fine, but I'll see him only later," he said. He will do so, surely, with the medical report to which the Colombian was subjected this Friday to calculate the level of wear and tear and his condition to play this Saturday. That's what this day will be more about than training, as the likes of Van Dijk, Portugal's Diogo Jota and Uruguay's Darwin Núñez were also arriving.

Klopp will surely give him minutes

Diaz showed off his spectacular form in the debut of coach Néstor Lorenzo, who wanted to take advantage of the national team break to give them a run in the partnerships, those that happen today and will happen in the future to give effective company to his most important man. The balance was not bad, beyond the debate in Colombia over the presence of the veterans around him: with the impact of the younger players, the Colombian seems to be well surrounded.
