The player’s exodus in Liverpool in the three lines of the field this summer was important and significant for Jürgen Klopp’s plan for the upcoming season which begins on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. For that reason, new faces were hired in particular positions.
Two of these new players who arrived in the mentioned English city are the Argentinian midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and the Bulgarian center midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. The first one landed from Brighton and Hove Albion, the second one arrived from Red Bull Leipzig.
Key names like the Brazilian Fabinho and the English James Milner, two football players who were captain several times during the last seasons by Klopp’s decision and said goodbye to the Reds fans this transfer market, left a void that is difficult to fill. We hope Mac Allister and Szoboszlai can be accommodated as soon as possible to the German trainer’s idea and perform well.
The World Cup 2022 champion could be used as a defensive or offensive midfielder depending on the team's position inside the field. The long and medium-distance kick, the quick pass in reduced spaces, and the game vision are the better skills of this great playmaker. Besides, the European 22 years old has a successful short pass, a formidable speed, and a phenomenal transition from defense to offense. For Alexis is his fourth club, and for Domonik is his fourth team too.
Regarding the recent preseason and the friendly matches Liverpool played before this weekend, Klopp thinks both soccer players are in a very frequent and logical rotation in the middle of the field. The 22 years old English Curtis Jones, the Spanish Thiago Alcántara, the young English Harvey Elliott, and the Serbian Stefan Bajcetic are their natural competitors on that part of the team.
