Argentina, in the most dramatic fashion, ended up conquering Qatar with their third World Cup win

Lionel Sñcaloni put together a team that was able to break the 36-year wait since the last time, under Diego Maradona, Argentina won the World Cup. This time, the hero was Lionel Messi who, at 35 years of age, was vital to the Americans' triumph in Qatar. But Messi was not the only architect of this huge global conquest that took place in the Lusail stadium.

Messi was joined by a constellation of stars, such as Enzo Fernandez, who attracted a great deal of interest during the tournament, with Liverpool FC one of the clubs who approached his agent to offer him the great Merseyside project. The Portuguese SL Benfica player had a great game against France at the weekend, playing all 120 minutes and going all the way to penalties.

Fernandez may have pleased the loyal Anfield faithful, who were already tipping him for a place in Jürgen Klopp's starting eleven, but the Argentine's talent could only increase in the coming years. One of the advantages of the 21-year-old midfielder is his enormous projection for the future and his young age, combined with his experience in the Old Firm, gives him added value for the current world champions.

After the conclusion of the game, Enzo has reportedly made a career decision to continue - at least - until the end of the season with the Portuguese Eagles. Reports from Lisbon reveal that Fernandez has a current contract until 2027, along with an exit clause of around 120 million euros, making a move to the Premier League and joining The Pool difficult for now.

Enzo will travel to his home country Argentina, so that along with his teammates, they can give the parade of champions in front of their people. After the conclusion of this event, he will travel back to Europe to continue the second half of the season with Benfica and close the 2023 season in the Portuguese Liga. Meanwhile Klopp and the Red's will close ranks for the EFL Cup clash against Manchester City.
