Our Liverpool's pre-season tour of Asia has come to an end and unfortunately it was with a 4-3 defeat to FC Bayern, in which our team even had a two-goal lead. Despite the loss to Bayern, the thousands of Reds fans in Singapore supported the team from start to finish, proving once again why Liverpool fans are the best in the world.
The motto "You'll Never Walk Alone" is not just a chant, it's a philosophy for anyone who claims to be a true Liverpool fan and there are players who have embraced it and even though they are no longer with the team, they carry their love for the club everywhere they go, making them legends of the team even if they didn't win many trophies during their time as a player.
Such is the case of Lucas Leiva, Liverpool's former Brazilian midfielder who became captain of the team and shared the dressing room with great Liverpool legends such as Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres. Leiva was that kind of player who always gave 110% every time he stepped out onto the field to defend the Liverpool shirt and is remembered with great affection by the fans. Now, during the team's tour in Singapore, Leiva had the opportunity to travel with the team to Asia to meet with fans and participate in special events as part of the Singapore Festival of Football.
After Liverpool's tour in Singapore concluded, Lucas Leiva dedicated an emotional message through his Twitter account in which he thanked the club and said he was honored to continue representing the club. "When you hear "once a red, always a red "you must take serious.
What an amazing week I had.The love of the supporters showed were incredible. It was so good to see so many friends at the club. Representing Liverpool in any capacity is a privilege and this week I felt incredibly honoured. Looking forward for much more as Liverpool will always be my club. "Once a Red, Always a Red " YNWA," he wrote.
