Today, Liverpool's image is undoubtedly Jürgen Klopp, who since his arrival on Merseyside, the team has returned to the top of Europe, as a strong competitive team, with a fast and lethal counter-attacking game, the Reds have gone from being a Premier League team to once again being the best team in England.
It was on 21 December 2019 when the Reds were crowned champions at the 2019 Qatar Club World Cup, where they first beat Monterrey of Mexico with a 2-1 scoreline, while in the final they faced South American champions Flamengo, being a hard-fought and close match, with Brazilian Roberto Firmino scoring the only goal of the game.
This match was the second one played between these two teams in the final of an international tournament, as in 1981, the final of the Intercontinental Cup was played, which pitted the champion of the European Cup against the winner of the Liberators Cup of America. This edition was played in the national state of Tokyo and was won by Flamengo. So 2019 could have been the Reds' revenge. With this triumph the Reds closed a year full of successes with the Champions League title in the middle of the same year. This was their second title in six months and the start of a historic Liverpool side that would go on to win the Premier League after 30 years without winning it. Many players went on to become legends on Merseyside.
This season my Reds have been doing well, so they will have to maintain their excellent level for as long as possible to be among the top of the Premier League and thus become an epoch-making team again. This time it might be the other way around, first the Premier League and then the Champions League.
