Reds boss marvelled at one of France's strikers

Top teams across Europe paid full attention to the game between France and Poland just to see what striker Kylian Mbappé was capable of in the last 16, marvelling at the Paris Saint-Germain gem as he gave his side a place in the next round with his first-half assist and brace in the second half, continuing to be one of the standout performers throughout the competition.

Although Jurgen Klopp himself was surely impressed with Mbappé's footballing performance throughout the 90 minutes against the Poles, the Reds boss looked beyond the Parisian's good play, finding a player who caught his eye during his analysis and research, as with just 24 minutes on the pitch, Marcus Thuram put in a decent display that convinced the German tactician.

If Klopp leaves for Germany, Liverpool would look for this coach

Thuram's good minutes against Poland are not just a mere coincidence, as this player has shown for some time now that he has the qualities and talent necessary to be a decisive attacker for an important team in the old continent, and Klopp has noticed that there are already several institutions looking for the 25 year old striker who plays as an attacker for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

During the World Cup in Qatar, there was a lot of talk about the possible arrival of Cristiano Rolando and Kylian Mbappé at Liverpool, but both options faded away when it was realised that the interests of these two players were not completely in line with the Merseyside institution, with Klopp and his people now opting to look for players of a lower profile but with an incredibly high potential to exploit.

Klopp wants Marcus Thuram

The fact that Marcus Thuram is developing as a striker in one of Europe's toughest leagues speaks well of the Frenchman, with his goals and good performances at club and international level making him a focal point for the Liverpool boss, and an ideal striker not only because of his high level and acceptable cost, but also because he could provide the pressure of competition that Darwin Nunez needs on a day-to-day basis.
