Daniel Sturridge is not doing well. After arriving as one of the A-League's newest signings, the player made just six appearances all season. Perth Glory have reportedly lost interest in Sturridge and have no intention of extending his contract. A few years ago he was one of Liverpool's best players alongside Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard.

Two seasons ago, the striker went through a similar situation when he terminated his contract with Trabzonspor after being charged with illegal gambling. At the time, the Englishman was training with Mallorca until his transfer to the Australian club was made official. The striker's career has gone downhill and now he seems to be forgotten by everyone.

The English striker was again without a team on 30 June. It should be noted that the former Mallorca was one of the most promising players at the beginning of the last decade when he scored 21 goals for Liverpool in the 2014 Premier League. However, after his time with the English club, Daniel's career has gone downhill and today, at the age of 32, no team would be willing to take a gamble on him.

Sturridge has only played 139 minutes in six games. Moreover, he was only part of the starting eleven in one of them, without being able to score. Unfortunately, muscle ailments have caused the 32-year-old to miss 16 games, which is why the Australian team did not think it was worth extending his contract for another season.

Gone are the years when Daniel was considered one of the stars and promises of English football, having an admirable season with Liverpool in the 2014 Premier League. Despite a chequered career, the player has played in two Champions League titles, winning both editions with Chelsea in 2012 and with Liverpool in 2019.
