Jürgen Klopp is still searching for his ideal eleven to face the new season and with the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Arabian football, the idea of the game has changed and with this he has to think about the best options to forget last season, however in the coming days there could be some new additions to Klopp's team, however the current additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai seem to be giving results.

The pre-season games have been a chance to see the youngsters and reinforcements really come into their own and this is good news for Klopp, as Mac Allister will undoubtedly be in charge of creating chances for the Reds in attack, however it is Szoboszlai who has been surprisingly good at defending, He was expected to play a more attacking role, but has had some very strong defensive performances, recording the most turnovers (18), the most interceptions (11) and the most fouls (six), according to Wyscout in 155 minutes of preseason play.

This could represent a great relief for Klopp as he could not close the signings of Lavia or Andre, for the moment the defensive midfield position would be covered with the improvisation of Szoboszlai as he has had a remarkable performance defensively, having numbers that compared to Fabinho last season might not be the same, but perhaps over the next season he could match him. And with Thiago Alcantara's constant injuries not looking likely to see him play for long, Szoboszlai seems to be the best option so far to be Fabinho's replacement.

What happens if Lavia and André arrive

Liverpool are not giving up the fight to sign a defensive midfielder and it seems they are making their third formal bid for Romeo Lavia as he is their priority, however in recent days the possibility of signing Andre Trindade from Fluminense is a reality. But what if both signings happen and Szoboszlai continues to show great defensive qualities, this would undoubtedly be a great factor in favour of the competitive level at Anfield and this will make all three players give their best, and with this the team will enjoy a great stability in midfield. But let's remember that Szoboszlai has more attacking qualities, so if Andre and Lavia arrive, he could develop a more attacking game and also help in defensive duties, being a very balanced midfielder.
