The match between Newcastle and Liverpool being played at St James' Park drew attention to the presence of England manager Gareth Southgate who was embroiled in controversy during the World Cup in Qatar as he virtually dropped Reds full-back Trent Alexander Arnold.

While there are several elements of both teams that could draw attention to call them for the next commitments of the national team there is much morbid about what could be with the Liverpool fullback who unfairly did not give enough minutes of play during the World Cup and that there was even talk that he quarreled with TAA.

However, local media reports indicate that for the match against Italy on 23 March in the Euro qualifiers, Southgate will leave out the Liverpool star, preferring other players such as Reece James and Kieran Tripper, who will also be in the game but on the Newcastle side.

Klopp annoyed with Southgate

This estrangement between Southgate and Trent Alexander Arnold even provoked the annoyance of Jürgen Klopp who at a press conference preferred to omit his comments on the decisions of the coach of the England national team making evident his annoyance but preferred not to enter into this controversy in a public way.
