Liverpool have made a poor start to the 2022-2023 Premier League and have struggled in the Champions League, but Colombian striker Luis Diaz's side are hoping to overcome their poor start to the season under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The English team is in eighth place with only eight points, 10 points behind leaders Arsenal.
It is not new that Klopp and his teams have this not so positive start as they, the management and the staff want it. The Klopp 'curse' is that every time he manages a team in his seventh season, the results are not the best. Klopp began his coaching career at Mainz. It was in 2011 and he managed to get them up to the top flight in 2004, but it wasn't all rosy.

In his seventh season Mainz were relegated, Klopp left leaving a bitter experience with the fans in that last year. At Borussia Dortmund something similar happened. Klopp arrived in 2011 and two years later came close to becoming champions. The match between Liverpool and Brighton, valid for the ninth round of the Premier League, will be played this Saturday, October 1 at Anfield.
German manager Jürgen Klopp will be able to count again on Luis Diaz who will return to compete with his team in the local tournament after two games postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth. October will be a competitive month for the Reds. The Seagulls arrive at Anfield for Liverpool's first Premier League game in four weeks, with games at home to Wolves and away to Chelsea postponed following the Queen's death.
Elsewhere, the Reds' injury problems have become less severe, while Klopp also allayed concerns that attackers Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz will not be available for the weekend after international exertions.
