Divock Origi joined Premier League side Nottingham Forest. An agreement was reached between the English club and AC Milan for the English side to take Origi on a season-long loan. The 28-year-old Belgian striker has passed medicals and has already been unveiled. Italian journalist Nico Schira claimed that the agreement between Milan and Nottingham includes the option to buy as part of the loan deal, so that the English club can buy Origi outright next summer. According to Milan News, the amount of the option is €5 million.
It is clear that the Belgian striker was not at all part of the club and Stefano Pioli's future plans for the 2023/24 season, as he was left out of Milan's squad in the summer and did not get a chance in any game. The match of the season, as well as the Champions match against Bologna, Torino and Roma, are also not scheduled in Serie A.
Origi has decent pace in his box and can run the channels well using his strong frame to shield the ball away from the opposition. He is a potent goal threat in the final third as he tends to get into some promising areas and is often a composed finisher in front of the opposition goal.
Now with Nottingham Forest, Origi will be back in the Premier League where he shone with Liverpool. A special moment will come when the Belgian returns to Anfield where he had magical nights such as the comeback against Barcelona in 2019 in the Champions League. It will be on Matchday 10 on Sunday 29 October,
