Since the end of the 2022-2023 season, in which our Liverpool failed to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League, Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board have reportedly decided to make major changes to the team's squad, which meant that we would be one of the most active teams during the transfer market, both in terms of signings and selling players.
As soon as last season ended, it was announced that players who had been important in the club's most recent winning era, such as Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, would no longer be with the team, as Klopp had in mind to rejuvenate the squad and would have considered that these players had already completed their cycle with the team.
Similarly, the board got down to work and managed to finalize two signings that promise to be very important players both in the immediate future and in the long term for Liverpool, as both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are two very talented players who will surely have a leading role from their first season, but they are also young players who could be the leaders of the new project of Jürgen Klopp.
Although it has been mentioned that Klopp would have in mind to continue signing more players, it has transpired that in order to do so he will have to sell others, and both Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara have been involved in transfer rumors that would take them away from Anfield this summer, although both players seem to have the main intention of staying at Liverpool, but there is another player who could leave the club and would leave a good amount of money after his departure.
According to various reports, Leeds would be very interested in signing Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips, and they would be willing to pay almost 10 million euros to sign him. Jürgen Klopp and the board would not be opposed to his departure because that money could be used to finalize the arrival of Romeo Lavia, one of Jürgen Klopp's main targets.
