One of the world's biggest stars currently making waves in the Bundesliga is Senegal's Sadio Mané, who until a few months ago played for Liverpool FC. The now German multi-champion Bayern Munich player took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the club that supported him and encouraged him professionally to reach his sixth club in his career.
Mané confessed that he has fond memories of playing for the Reds. "Honestly, I will never forget my time there. I learned a lot, as a man and as a football player. The fans were unbelievable, the people in the city were unbelievable. It's a club that will stay in my heart forever," the African champion with Senegal told UEFA Champions League Magazine.
Liverpool had a scrappy result at Ange Brighton, but one player made history
He was a much-criticised player at Liverpool and now doing social work
The African champion with Senegal became a Liverpool FC player in 2016, when Jürgen Klopp asked for him as a key player to create his new project formed by a luxury trident, which was formed by Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, leading the Red's to win titles, and of course, the long-awaited Premier League after three decades of waiting.
Mané knows Liverpool's greatness, especially in the UEFA Champions League, where the Reds can boast of having won it six times, the latest conquest coming in the 2018-2019 season, where from the last 16 against Bayern Munich and in the final against Tottenham Hotspur FC, the 30-year-old striker starred in attack.
The former Metz of France and Salzburg of Austria, culminating his participation in the UEFA Champions League Magazine, recalled the magical nights he spent with Liverpool, one of the clubs that most romanticises the trophy. "It's also a legendary club, they've won everything. And also, it's the club that had all the best Champions League nights".
