The start of the managerial career of former Liverpool star, Dutchman Dirk Kuyt, has not gone as expected. Faced with poor results in the Dutch league, he was confronted by ADO den Haag fans during training on Sunday, prompting even the police to intervene to prevent the conflict escalating into a nasty brawl.

At 42 years of age, Dirk Kuyt took over responsibility for the team, which plays in the second division of the Netherlands. But the results have not gone his way. In six matches he has won only one, drawn one and lost four. This has provoked the annoyance of the fans who point to him as the man most responsible and are already calling for his departure from the club he joined in the summer.

As reported by the Dutch press, Kuyt agreed to have a talk with a group of fans to clear up the misunderstandings and although the discussions were calm, they had to require the presence of police at the training ground, although in the end it did not escalate and the fans left without further problems, but with the demand that the team's results improve.

Cait's tenure at the club is not assured because the poor results have also worried the board, who warned that failure to get back to winning ways could have consequences for the former Liverpool star. Dear also knows that if it takes too long in football there can be consequences. But I'm still confident he'll be fine if we win the next game the world could look very different straight away.

Kuyt was a star at Anfield

Dirk Kuyt played 285 games for Liverpool scoring 71 goals and providing 43 assists over a six-year stay as he arrived from Feyernoord in 2006 and left the Reds in 2012. Although his individual production was very good, as a team he was only able to lift two trophies, firstly in 2006 winning the English Super Cup and in 2012 being part of the team that won the League Cup.
