The World Cup in Qatar will be the perfect showcase for Europe's giants as they look to bolster their squads for the second half of the 22/23 season. One of them is Liverpool, who continue to have their finger on the pulse of a bid to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham, who is also being closely watched by Real VARdrid.

BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke knows about the great interest the Red's have shown in the English youngster, with Jürgen Klopp reportedly making a special request to the new board. "After Qatar, we'll have a discussion about what Jude actually wants. He should just tell us whether he wants to stay or leave. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can't afford to have a fight financially," he told the media.

Jude Bellingham began his professional career in 2019 with Birmingham City Academy, who sold him prematurely to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortumund for a fee in excess of 25 million. The midfielder immediately paid dividends, becoming an important factor in winning the DFB Pokal 2020-2021, which is so far the only official title the England international has lifted.

Watzke hinted that Bellingham's exit will not be easy, with the German club at least expecting a minimum of 100 million euros from Liverpool for the 19-year-old, who will be playing in his first World Cup. "Jude is a wonderful boy who also has his fluctuations - we've seen that now but he is certainly one of the greatest talents in European football," the manager said.

Bellingham is Klopp's wish list

Bellingham made the final 23-man squad that Three Lions coach Gareth Southgate unveiled in recent days. St. Jude and England are placed in Group B alongside the United States, Welsh and Iran, the latter their first World Cup opponents. The former 'The Blue's' player is coming into the game in good shape after his last game was last Friday in his club's 4-2 defeat at the hands of Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he played the full 90 minutes.
